Wicked

“By the pricking of my thumbs, something “Wicked” this way comes.” ~ Shakespeare, MacBeth

For years, Candy’s daughter Penny has been begging to see the Broadway production of “Wicked”.  She even asked Candy to drive her to St. Louis to see the performance.  She was totally serious.  So this summer, while Penny was away at camp, tickets went on sale and Candy surprised her with tickets and a night on the town.  With giddy anticipation, the night finally arrived. We decided we would start our evening by meeting for dinner at J. Alexander’s on West End.  After a great meal we carpooled together downtown. Penny plugged her iPod into the car stereo and we serenaded her with with the rock n’ roll stylings of Rod Stewart.  Just like old times.  I’m sure she loved it.  We finally found a parking space in the bowels of a dark and ominous parking garage and made our way into TPAC.

After our night on Broadway we decided we all needed a little snack for our respective drives home so we buzzed through McDonalds.  Did you know you can get a large Coke for just $1.  Who knew?  So we ordered three large Cokes, a caramel apple sundae for Candy, a hot fudge sundae for Penny and a medium order of french fries for me.  We laughed and giggled and had a yes, I’m going to say it, a wickedly good time.
