Tennis Practice

Wicked forehand!

Behold, the future John McEnroe, minus the anger issues or the colorful Andre Agassi. Am I dating myself? How about Roger Federer? Anyway, today Terry and I thought we would pop in on one of Levi’s tennis practices at Langford Farms in Mt. Juliet. We left Franklin at 3:45pm and arrived a smidge after 5pm, thanks traffic. Levi was already on the courts with his coach going through his drills. Levi has a wonderful forehand and backhand with a natural spin as well as lovely little spin on his serve.

The weather was simply glorious and it was a delight to sit outside in the warm glow of the late afternoon sun.

Sitting around watching all that exercise requires sustenance, so after Levi’s practice, we decided to all meet up at Los Compadres on Lebanon Road for dinner. This was indeed an evening to relish. Tomorrow, Levi is having braces put on his choppers. Yes, braces on a nine year old. He’ll wear them for a year and then have a two year break before they put them on again. So technically this could be called his last supper. Also, Levi unbelievably starts school next week. No!!! Summer can’t be over already. That went by way too fast.

And lastly Josh’s birthday is this Sunday, his 37th birthday. I make a point of his age this because Jill was absolutely sure he was going to be 38. So there we sat with with three cell phone calculators and guess what? He’s going to be 37.

So over queso and chips and salsa we laughed and visited and caught up and celebrated these milestones.

Olé!
