Off Their Rockers

Levi as a little old man.

Tonight was the night of Levi’s 3rd grade production entitled “Off Their Rockers”.  Levi’s character was that of a little old man named Monty and he absolutely slayed me with his salt and pepper moustache, sweater vest and spectacles. Jill did a great job with his costume.

The gist of the production was as follows:

*Our story takes place in a senior center where all is quiet and calm, until the center director decides to use music and dance to bring fun and excitement into the lives of the seniors. Through songs and dances that were a part of the seniors’ past, the director, along with friends and family, encourage the seniors to “get off their rockers” and join in the fun. “

The skit was full of great toe tapping music. The kids took the stage to Bob Seeger’s, “Old Time Rock & Roll”. Next, was a montage of musical history starting with a Charleston inspired rag, “Banjo’s Back in Town” then onto Bill Haley’s “Rock Around the Clock” followed by Joey Dee & The Starliters “Peppermint Twist” then onto Danny and The Juniors “At The Hop” which really made you want to swing your poodle skirt and the grand finale, The Vandellas with “Dancing in the Street” had us all dancing in our seats.

It was fun-filled production and Levi, a.k.a Monty did an outstanding job!
