We made an impromptu visit to the Farm this afternoon to not only say “howdy” but to give our hail and hearty huzzah’s to Janice for her birthday, which was yesterday and Mother’s Day, which was today.
We arrived mid-afternoon and were regaled with many grateful thanks saying that they could finally stop working for the day. Whew. We walked around the yard and admired all the spring plantings, lots and lots of colorful flowers overflowing window boxes and beds, raised boxes brimming with herbs and vegetables and hanging ferns soaking up the shade on the porches.
We also got the grand tour of the bedroom in the cabin. They have been working tirelessly on cleaning and sanding all the logs and they look beautiful. The shower surround had been installed and was ready for the glorious rainfall shower head to be hung and the floors are awaiting hard woods to be layed.
Levi took me up to the loft and thoughtfully described his interior design ideas. He knew exactly where his bed would be situated, his desk and his TV.
Back downstairs on the porch, we sat around the table while Janice opened her gifts and while we oohed and aahed, Jill brought out her heavenly strawberry poke cake with homemade whipped cream for all of us to enjoy. Luscious and delicious.
It was simply a gorgeous spring day and we enjoyed kicking back and relaxing on the back porch, laughing and enjoying each others company. Good times.
