Lily’s Graduation – 2013

Tonight was Lily’s pre-school graduation from the Goddard School.  The ceremony was held at the Brentwood Church of the Nazarene on Franklin Road and it was packed with parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts (me), uncles and friends.

The graduation program opened with a video montage of students being asked what they wanted to be when they grew up.  Lily responded, with gusto, that she wanted to be a cowgirl.  That’s my girl!  Of course that garnered a lot of laughter.

When the video ended, Lily stepped forward and introduced the Pledge of Allegiance.  The graduating class proceeded to sing “Make New Friends” in sign language, recited the months of the year in English and Spanish, read excerpts from “Oh the Places You Will Go” by Dr. Seuss, and then sang “You’ve Got a Friend” and the “Graduation Song” before they were each introduced and received their diploma.

After marching out with her class Lily posed for a few family pics and Roxanne gave her a little graduation gift. A memorable evening indeed.
