Although we are still living under pandemic guidelines, that didn’t prevent us from celebrating Lily’s birthday in a responsible, socially distanced manner. Once again, Roy set up a birthday staging area in the front yard complete with gifts and refreshments.
Other than Lily, the star of the show was the custom made cake inspired by the 1973 horror film, The Exorcist. Despite its unattractive albeit hilarious exterior, the interior was a dreamy, strawberry. Delicious!
Among her gifts was a dimensional, wooden jigsaw puzzle of a lion’s face made up of pieces shaped like jungle animals, two new books, “Journey to the Center of the Earth” and “Frankenstein”, a Van’s t-shirt, a geode bookend for her growing library and another puzzle of illustrated posters of US national parks.
Elijah also received a belated gift today. We had ordered an expansion to their card game Exploding Kittens they love to play called Streaking Kittens. I’m sure they will have a “blast” “blowing” each other up.
