This afternoon, Dad and Janice hosted a group get-together to celebrate all of our birthdays. We met over at Edith’s Farm where they had set up a table with gifts, balloons, and lots of games ready for us to play.
While waiting for Josh and Levi to arrive home from work, we sat outside on the patio, visited and gabbed while Roy and Elijah played ping pong and the gigantor Connect Four. When the whole gang was finally together, we made a beeline to the kitchen for a summery buffet: baked beans, potato salad, mac and cheese, pulled barbecue, crockpot Italian meatballs, fried chicken, Greek pasta salad and deviled eggs. After our delicious meal, we opened our gifts, portable mini-batteries for use with our electronic devices. Great for travel or using around the house instead of being tethered to a cord. For dessert, a gorgeous strawberry cake and fresh brewed coffee. Perfect for celebrating birthdays and summer.
Frisbee golf, a UTV ride to the back of the farm to investigate a TVA project adjacent to the property and ping pong rounded out the late afternoon. By around 8pm, we were winding down and still had to drive home so we called a close to our fun-filled afternoon together. Had such a total blast hanging out with everybody. Janice suggested the next time we get together we should play the card game Spoons which is ridiculously fun and I don’t think any of the kiddos have played. Let’s do it!!!
