Did You Know? Whenever Jessie is in trouble in Woody’s Roundup, she lets out a yodel and all of her critter chums come running to her rescue. This rough-and-tumble cowgirl has a special call for every creature in the wild west – from busy bobcats to eager beavers – and fans of the show can learn how to copy these calls with the help of a record released in 1957. The album is called Jessie’s Critter Call Yodels and it features hit tracks including Armadillo Pillow, Bear With Me and Bobcat At The Back Door.
Fun Fact: Jessie’s favorite phrase is: “Yee-hah!” but she’s also been known to blurt: “Sweet mother of Abraham Lincoln!”
In A Nutshell: The roughest, toughest cowgirl of the wild, wild west!
I just couldn’t wait for Halloween this year. With Lily, Levi and Elijah all under the age of five, and their love of the movie “Toy Story”, dressing up like Jessie the Yodeling Cowgirl seemed like the perfect costume.
Giddy up!
Since Halloween fell on a weeknight this year, Wednesday to be precise, Josh and Jill were unable to bring Levi down for some good old fashioned trick or treating. So Jessie gave ol’ Levi a call. She yeehawed, aw shucked and told Levi how much she missed him being at the Halloween hoe down. He was so excited to actually be speaking with Jessie. Sweet mother of Abraham Lincoln, it was hilarious.
Cowgirl Jessie jawin’ with Levi.
‘All hope abandon ye who enter here’.
“So unchanging was the dull old house, the yellow light in the darkened room, the faded spectre in the chair by the dressing-table glass, that I felt as if the stopping of the clocks had stopped Time in that mysterious place…” – Great Expectations
I couldn’t wait for the trick or treaters to arrive to see all the clever and creative costumes. Imagine my surprise and total delight when Roy, Leah, Lily and Elijah arrived as characters from one of my all time favorite macabre television shows, “The Addams Family.”
The Addams Family!
Mmmmm, creepy cupcakes.
Trick or treating makes you hungry.
