Halloween – 2008

Once upon a midnight dreary…

Edgar Allen Poe himself would have approved of such a macabre gathering of ghost and goblin alike.  As evening fell wrapping its heavy cloak of darkness around us we anxiously awaited the arrival of our guests.

Haunting strains of music filled the air and a ghostly fog hung close to the ground. When the witching hour tolled curious creatures began to emerge from the mist…a scarecrow, a black cat, a devil, a frontiersman, farmers with a cuddly cow, a witch or two, a zombie, a cool hippie chick, a ladybug, a piglet, an artist and even a political hopeful.

As an homage to classic television, the spirited host and hostess, Lucy and Ricky Ricardo, welcomed their guests, and encouraged everyone to partake of the ghoulish feast that was laid before them including Black Widows Cake, Spider Cider, Witches Brew and Haunted Hummus to name just a few of the tantalizing treats.

Bats fluttered here and there, spiders peered ominously into windows and crawled creepily across mirrors, flies and rats made their presence known and a glittery array of skulls and decaying bones were elegantly served upon a silver tray.

Enter if you dare….
