Today in Gobbler’s Knob, Pennsylvania, Punxsutawney Phil arose from his wintery slumber to predict our fate. As it would happen, for the first time, his prognostication fell on Super Bowl Sunday. When asked to forecast the conqueror of the gridiron contest this is what he had to say.
A Super Bowl winner I will not predict,
But my weather forecast, you cannot contradict,
That’s not a football lying beside me
It’s my shadow you see
So, six more weeks of winter it shall be!
