First Day of School – 2023

A lot of new beginnings this school year. In a bold move, Jax decided to transfer to Centennial High School, a highly ranked public high school just down the street from their house, to kick-off her sophomore year. Centennial is only 1.2 miles or 4 minutes by car so she’ll be able to ride her skateboard to school. She’ll be taking a full course load including Chemistry, History, Algebra, Architecture, Art, English, etc.

Levi was the second kiddo to head back to school. He’s a freshman this year and also started a new school leaving Friendship Christian Academy behind for Anchor Academy in Lebanon. Anchor is a hybrid school that combines the small private school experience with a home school model flexibility. His schedule is amazing; Math, English Language Arts, Science and Social Studies 9am-2:45pm, Monday through Thursday. He can also participate in extracurricular activities including P.E., Music Theory, Culinary Arts, Stem, Bible and Visual Arts if he so chooses. Athletics are also available in the school area he is zoned for which would be Gallatin High School.

Both Jax and Levi have been at their respective schools since they were itty bitties, pre-k for Levi and kindergarten for Jax, so this is a huge transition.

Elijah remains a BGA Wildcat as he cues up to conquer the 8th grade. His schedule is multi-faceted as well: Latin, Engineering – Design & Function, Science, History, English and Pre-Algebra.

I can’t believe how how big the kiddos have gotten and how time is flying. Turning 15 this May, Jax earner her learners permit and is enjoying supervised driving while Levi tried his hand at gainful employment by working part-time this summer with Josh. And Elijah, who shot up like a rocket getting tall and lanky, did a fair bit of swimming and fishing.

Here’s to another great school year!
