Father’s Day – 2014

Dad gets ready to open a few gifts.

We decided on a low key Father’s Day get together. No frills or thrills just a laid back afternoon. As part of our low key gathering we decided slaving in a hot kitchen and washing dishes was absolutely forbidden. So on our way to the Farm, Terry and I stopped by Buffalo P’s and picked up a rack of mouth-watering barbeque ribs, smoky pulled pork for sandwiches, cole slaw and baked beans for a late lunch slash early dinner. Oh my goodness, it was finger lickin’ good.

After making little piglets of ourselves, yes, I said it, Dad opened his gifts. He received so many creative and thoughtful things: a hand crafted M&M dispenser for the log cabin, a stylized painting of a tree in autumnal hues by Roy while gift cards rounded out the booty.

There were a few surprises thrown into the mix as well. Roy presented Janice with her birthday present which he had been working on for quite a bit.  It was a three panel representation of a tree in bright, primary colors with floating, ethereal orbs.

Chris also received an unexpected surprise. Roy presented him with three guitar paintings that Chris had commissioned to display in his new office. Also unbeknownst to Chris, Jill had commissioned a Roy Laws original of the AquaZone logo. Chris couldn’t wait to get to his office to hang his new custom canvases.
