Roy and Lily picked me up early this morning to head to the Farm for a big breakfast celebration for Elijah’s 8th birthday. As soon as we arrived, Roy was tasked with frying up sausage patties and links, Jill began making light and fluffy pancakes using a gluten-free King Arthur Flour mix while Dad started making homemade biscuits. I brought along a fresh fruit salad comprised of blueberries, blackberries, pineapple, white grapes and kiwi.
After breakfast, Elijah got to opening his gifts. Dad and Janice gave him a super rad, trick skateboard, Josh, Jill and Levi gave Elijah a book of maps and atlases and a very nifty LEGO book while Terry and I gave him a couple of t-shirts with a pair of shorts, a “Dinosaurology” book and zombie popsicle molds.
When Roy and the kiddos returned home, Elijah had a few more presents to open as well as a big surprise…a brand new bike! To top off the day, Lily and Elijah helped make hand churned, homemade strawberry ice cream.
