Elijah will be celebrating his birthday at Nashville Shores Saturday afternoon with a few of his school buds but as an early surprise, Roy decided to treat him to an early birthday dinner at Mellow Mushroom. After picking Elijah up at school, Roy pointed his truck toward downtown Franklin explaining he had a quick errand to run. As they walked toward Main Street, Elijah was inescapably drawn to the aroma of freshly baked pizza. Although highly improbable, “perhaps”, Elijah thought, “I can convince dad to grab a pizza”. The odds against this at 3:30pm, on a Tuesday afternoon, on a school night were staggeringly high but he gave it a whirl and lo and behold, Roy agreed. I’m sure Elijah couldn’t believe his luck. Unbeknownst to him, this was part of Roy’s evil plan all along having invited a couple of neighborhood friends, Zachary and Elise along with their mother Joy to join in on the surprise. A celebratory ice cream at Kilwin’s topped off the afternoon.
Back at Roy’s house, Elijah joyfully opened a few gifts but then had to start on his homework as he had a school presentation due tomorrow about leaves.

Point of reference, it was so cold, windy, overcast and rainy Saturday the kids practically had the entire water park to themselves. In fact, Roy joked that the lifeguards outnumbered the kids. Brrr…I don’t know how they could stand it.
