Easter – 2014

Spring. Is there anything more glorious than a spring day? The icy fingers of winter have grudgingly released their hold and the dark, dreary days have begun to wane. We emerge from our wintry slumber, face tilted toward the heavens, basking in the welcoming rays of the sun and gazing in wonderment as nature reawakens before our very eyes.

And what a beautiful spring day was on hand as we celebrated Easter at the Farm. The clear blue sky, multi-hued flowers reaching skyward and the verdant grass, bright and springy under our feet. The screened-in porch and sunroom were both decorated with charm and whimsy while the dining room table was laden with a smorgasbord of deliciousness. Baked ham with a brown sugar glaze, buttery yeast rolls, strawberry freezer jam, Greek pasta salad, potato salad, the cutest deviled eggs you’ve ever seen, blanched asparagus, mashed sweet potatoes, mac and cheese, baked beans, green beans and Reunion cole slaw all awaited to be consumed.

After Levi and Elijah giddily searched high and low for their Easter eggs, we adjourned to the porch to partake of Jill’s homemade bunny cupcakes and gorgeous Easter cake. She spent weeks practicing piping skills and perfecting her cake recipe and they did not disappoint.

The day was absolutely perfect with one little snag. Poor Lily was sick the previous night and was waylaid at home recuperating on the couch and missed all the festivities.

Thanks to all who made this Easter a beautiful and special day.
