Christmas Day – 2022

Ho, Ho, Ho and Merry Christmas! Terry and I arrived at the Farm around noon and were so excited to see the whole family. We haven’t all been together since the dry run of Edith’s Farm in July. The house was decorated in holiday cheer and there was a toasty fire roaring in the fireplace.

Since it’s been a crazy busy, roller coaster year, we decided that this Christmas was all about being with family and the adults were going to forgo drawing names and gift-giving. That being said, I did bring Dad and Janice their anniversary gift which was a custom, holiday themed, wooden jigsaw puzzle with a photo from our Christmas hayride last year.

All the kiddos get an ornament from us that correlates with their interests or something fun that happened that year. This summer, Levi got his first pick-up truck and he and Josh are going to restore it so he’ll have something to drive when he gets his drivers license. To mark this amazing moment, we gifted him a personalized, slate ornament with a photo of him with his truck as a forever holiday keepsake.

Since this was a low-key holiday gathering, the plan was to keep things super simple for dinner. There was a spiral sliced ham and roasted turkey all ready for sandwiches, deviled eggs, chips and macaroni and cheese. As the winter sun began to wane, the kiddos took advantage all of the recent freezing weather and try a little ice skating on both the koi pond and the cow pond.
