Is there anything more adorable than children singing Christmas carols? It’s like sweet, swirly, snow-white Divinity candy. Indulgent, nectar for the soul that just makes you all happy on the inside. Today was BGA’s Holiday Musical, “Joy!” where the kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade classes joined together to perform a host of holiday favorites for family and friends. And as the name of the production implies, my heart just brimmed with excitement and joy.
Lily and Elijah, all decked in their holiday finery, sang their little hearts out. I simply don’t know how they manage to memorize their songs and choreography along with all their school work.
Here’s just a summary of the program:
1st Grade – Elijah’s Class:
- “Away in a Manger”
- “Joy”
- “All I Want is…Nuttin’!”
4th Grade – Lily’s Class:
- Recorder Champions Peform Holiday Songs
- “The Nutcracker…In About Three Minutes”
- “Christmas Joy!”
And as a grand finale, the entire school sang “Season of Joy” with red and green streamers and metallic pom poms shaking and twirling. What a fun way to end the first half of the school year and kick off the holidays.
