Today was Grandparents & Special Friends Day at Battle Ground Academy. Each spring, BGA hosts a day to acknowledge grandparents as well as other family members and friends with a musical performance. If you were wondering, I happen to fall in the “special friends” category. The lower school (kindergarten through the fourth grade) with the support of the choir and accompaniment by the upper school, sing and perform choreographed numbers to the delight of the audience. The theme this year was Music Mosaic and Lily’s first grade class entertained us with a rousing rendition of “Blue Suede Shoes” and the “Orange Blossom Special” which Lily performed with great vigor.
